£2,995.00

Extremely Rare 1958 Bown 50 Spring Heel Model Moped
A very rare 1958 Bown 50 Spring Heel Moped, the Bown Manufacturing Company was established in 1862 in Birmingham by local machinist, William Bown, making a variety of patented mechanical parts. The name Aeolus had been used as a trademark since 1877 and especially for cycle parts. A second-cousin took over the company when the founder died in 1900 and began making powered-cycles also under the Aeolus brand. Production was interrupted by the First World War, after which motorcycles were marketed under the Bown brand until 1924. The company was subsequently acquired by the Aberdale Cycle Company in the 1930's. This extremely rare Classic Moped comes with a V5C and a dating certificate dated the 18th of September 2020 to substantiate the year, model and frame and engine numbers which match the V5C and due to it being an Historic Vehicle its MOT and Tax exempt which is a bonus. Overall in lovely condition, due to it being not used much over the last few years it may require some light recommissioning, the paintwork is very good and would take little effort to get it to show standard. This bike with its Welsh Heritage should be in a Museum but would also be perfect for a Welsh business for display, maybe a Bar, Restaurant or Shop. You will not find many models like this available for sale, this 63 year classic are highly collectable, a great addition to a collection or a concours candidate, a sound investment for the future.

This vehicle is now situated in Mrs Heath’s fitness studio/coffee shop for viewing…Mrs Heath had taken a very serious liking to this particular bike, so we decided it would make a very attractive addition to her studio for customers to enjoy, let’s call it a very beautiful, rare talking point…If you would like to go and see this impressive scooter in all its glory then you can drop into Vikki’s coffee shop:
